Putin’s credibility rating at 76 pct and keeps rising -- poll

MOSCOW, October 22 (Itar-Tass) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin’s rating has been steady on the rise for the past six months. Currently it has reached this year’s record-high of 75.7 percent, a Bashkirova and Partners opinion poll found on October 13-16.

The poll of a representation sample of 1,500 men and women aged over 18 found out that 24.1 percent have complete confidence in the president and 51.6 percent trust the president rather than not.

Those who distrust Putin partially or completely totaled 20 percent.

“The distrustful group has a very mild trend to shrink,” the pollsters said.

As for Putin’s electoral rating, it has remained on the rise as well to reach this year’s record-high. If the presidential election were to be held next Sunday, the incumbent would have received support from 54.1 percent of the polled, in contrast to 43.8 percent in January, 53.2 percent in May and 52.8 percent last month.

On the list of other federal politicians offered to the respondents in the hypothetic presidential poll Vladimir Zhirinovsky, from the Liberal Democratic Party, has remained in the lead with 5.1 percent. This is his worst rating this year, though, in contrast to 8.1 percent in April and 6.1 percent last month.

Gennady Zyuganov’s rating (4.6 percent) looks relatively stable, as compared to 5.8 percent in July and 4 percent in September.

Votes “against all” would be cast by 9.1 percent of the respondents.

Nu, zayats, pogodi!
