It once took me three hours at 8 pm to travel the 15 km from Moscow to Lubertsy. Anyway the journalist continues:
"Moscow's sky is often all but invisible through the smog and the air along major roads sticks in the throats of pedestrians"
I have very rarely (almost never) seen smog in Moscow. I suspect the journalist was confused because two weeks ago there were huge peat-bog fires outside the city that created a smog-like effect.
