These are promising signs, especially with Brooks, however, even a broken clock is right twice a day. It's too bad it takes something the scale of Katrina to get people to notice what's going on, and start to regain some minor sense of community.
I'm looking to see the corrective action start this Sunday, the 4th anniversary of 9/11. Bushco are desperate for something, anything, to take people's minds off the fiasco in NO and anticipate seeing them fully exploit the one day festival of flag, jingoism, mourning and the ongoing war on the heathens to snap to snap everyone back into line. Interesting to see if it works. My money is on the media suddenly remembering their role as compliant mouthpieces.
