as a liberal sort of leftist, i am not so much bothered by the tourists 
themselves. if the people (in india) get some benefit out of it, (all 
else remaining the same), i am fine with it. of course the system that 
requires this sort of welfare (or most forms of philanthropy) is a lot 
more suspect.
