Sorry for being dense, but I'm lost as to what point is under debate here (it probably doesn't help that damn Gmail bunches things together by subject with no way to separate out individual emails by sender).
Is it the number of people killed by SH? Well, a single person would be too damn many, but if body count is the question, wasn't SH at his worst when he was a client of the US?
Is it the number of people killed by SH in a particular incident? Counts have been inflated for propaganda purposes, but as I said above, one is too many.
Is it that taking one side or another regarding such controversies aligns one w/SH and the Ba'ath? To me, that stuff smacks of the "objectively pro-Saddam" blige freely dispensed by winger celebs against those opposed to the war.
Seriously, what's the point of contention here?
