Ah, history. The same music, just a different dance. Being sectarian is to create and confirm identify, irrespective of the political outcome.

The whole Euro project has come to an end (as it should for the time being). The Euro idea has mistakenly believed it understood the Soviet collapse - the end of ideology creates democracy beyond the nation-state. In fact and in just the opposite, the end of SU lowered the currency of the EU. The end of the SU really means that the nation-state is far more meaningful on the ground and indifferent to grand blocs. Just watch, the new members in the EU will now be the biggest problem for the bloc. Stay out of the EU and be what you can be - then petition for entry on stronger terms!
