The weakness on the war I grant-- but on elections they fought for decent 
rules in the HAVA law and have been fighting the REAL ID schemes of the GOP 
pretty hard.

And on Katrina, the Dems response has been pretty hardball, refusing to 
participate in the GOP "bipartisan commission", condemning the failures, and 
with all but thirteen House Dems already sponsoring a bill to reverse Bush's 
suspension of Davis-Bacon prevailing wage standards.
