Marc Cooper's basic point on last Saturday's anti-war march (http://www.laweekly.com/ink/05/45/dissonance-cooper.php) is that because it was dominated by those sectarian ANSWER people (the Party for Socialism and Liberation, not the Workers World Party as in olden days) it didn't attract Democratic Party politicians.

But the DP folks are just as sectarian as ANSWER. They want us to line up behind _them_ rather than behind ANSWER. They will manipulate everything to serve them, just as the ANSWER folks do.

As I said before, what really matters is the main slogan of the rally and the number of people who show up to support it. Media coverage is important, but the main issue there is the lack of senseless violence.

If the rallies get large enough, the politicians will come _despite_ the ANSWERites. -- Jim Devine "Segui il tuo corso, e lascia dir le genti." (Go your own way and let people talk.) -- Karl, paraphrasing Dante.
