It was actually Jim Larkin who said this, not Connolly, although it's<BR>
not hard to see how they could be confused. The full accurate quote<BR>
is "The great appear great because we are on our knees: Let us rise." <BR>
It appears on a statue of Larkin on O'Connell Street, the main drag<BR>
here in Dublin.<BR>
