<DIV>Just as a matter of curiosity, what, in your view, would
constitute<BR>acceptable "proof, evidence" of anything about Cuba that is not
in<BR>accordance with your idea of it? In other words, are your views on<BR>Cuba
falsifiable at all or are they an article of religious faith?<BR>Conversely,
what "proof, evidence" is your view of Cuba based on other<BR>than the data
given out by its not particularly transparent<BR>government?<BR><BR>Sujeet</DIV>
<DIV>Comment: First of all, it is kind of crude and rude to assume that I
wouldn't accept "anything about Cuba that is not in accordance with my idea of
it". I hope that this kind of mind reading of others is not a permanent habit of
yours.<BR>Now , as a self proclaimed Popperian and as a rare 21c
believer in "falsifiablity", you should know that journalistic subjective
reports are by definition "unfalsifiable", therefore they are
impressionistic items that constitute proof or evidence of nothing.</DIV>
<DIV>This is not case either, of "science vs religious faith" as you
solemnly proclaim .And to answer your main question, besides Reuters
articles, there is a wealth of data on the Cuban economy from the UNDP,
FAO, the Economic Commission for Latin America (ECLA), the Inter American
Development Bank and even the World Bank. In addition, a large number of
Development Studies Centers in various universities in the world have published
a rich variety of studies and papers on the Cuban Economy. I certainly, invite
you to examine them and be a good Popperian by falsifying Reuters. As your
Karl said, : "the proof of the pudding is in eating it."</DIV>
