I don't offer unsolicited advice to political opponents -- but a word on MoveOn.
Chuck is both correct and wrong, failing to make a distinction between leadership & base. The leadership of MoveOn are simply part of the DP apparatus, and as such part of The Enemy. BUT they appeal to thousands (10s? 100s?) who are potentially part of the resistance, so I would think that in many communities it would be worthwhile for at least a few people from the anti-war movement to work with MoveON.

P.S. Has anyone read Curt White's article in the last Harpers? (He is a colleague at ISU.) Its attitude seems to be "Let me sit on a throne at the side of the road and sneer at the fools going by." It is another instance of the way in which "we," when made the object of criticism, always implicitly dissolves into "I" on the one hand and everyone else on the other. I think Mencken was really a turd, but at least he was honest with none of the fake humility of this false "WE need to change."
