Alcan Group from Australia has been licensed to build a factory in Chan May-Lang Co Economic Zone in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue. The announcement was made by Nguyen Huu Tho, head of Chan May Project Management Board.
Alcan has been provided with 65 hectares to build their factory with a leasing duration of 20 years. The group plans to invest a total of US $200 million to build a factory specialising in producing an assembly line to exploit and produce aluminium for exports.
Currently, the Alcan's more than 100 foreign experts and nearly 1,000 workers are building a wharf, a 35 metres-wide, one kilometre-long road linking the factory to the wharf and the first workshop on an area of 5 hectares.
The first products are scheduled to be available by this June. (Tuoi tre)
