Yep. Russia has more immigrants than any other country besides the US, mostly from other former Soviet republics, and from China and Afghanistan. The ethnic Russian share of the population relative to the others is rapidly dropping.
Volgograd is the capital of anti-immigrant sentiment. Foreigners get beaten to death there all the time. St. Petersburg isn't far behind.

While the nationalist ideology and sentiment does not appear to run as deeply among American workers and some of their leaders as say, the Russians, it *does* appear here and there. What a person who wants to change these views might do first is to development a criticism of these commonplaces which airm at plucking the patriotic heart string or two. Here are some of the core arguments from a social-conservative warrior (wasn't Lamm a Democrat), being interpreted by what look to be those admiring the revellations spilling forth from his silver tongue.
