I really don't know. He's been writing biographies and books on contemporary political figures for the last several years -- there's the book he wrote with Zhores Medvedev on Stalin (which I think has been translated), three (!) books on Putin, a life of Andropov, and a book on Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov. Socialism in Russia? focusses on the 1920s and contemporary Russia (the KPRF and so forth). But then Medvedev writes so much I wouldn't be surprised if I've missed something.

I'm reading a very good book on the Perestroika period by A. Shubin, who, if he is the same A. Shubin I think he is, was heas of the Union of Anarchists during Gorbachev days. I think I'll take a look in there -- I skipped ahead to get to the section on the ethnic conflicts in Georgia, Uzbekistan and Ajerbaijan. Did you know hundreds of people were killed in ethnic pogroms in Uzbekistan in the early 1990s? Lord.
