What do you want? Economists, or at least famous economists, seem to enjoy very long lifespans. Friedrich Hayek lived to be 92, while our own Paul Sweezy made it to 93, and his sidekick, Harry Magdoff made it to 92. Milton Friedman is 93, while Paul Samuelson is a mere youth at 90.
I wouldn't be surprised if Galbraith had outlived his original NY Times obit writer.
