there was a piece on the opening of Israel's Aroma cafe chain in New York a couple of weeks ago - in the times. the reporter cited the city's israeli population at 300,00. last time i was home, my father's best friend's daughter - who had just moved to LA from Tel Aviv - said that a near equal number resides in the LA area. makes sense - every time we go down south to see my wife's family, i run into more and more Israelis.
