the original muslim brotherhood dates to late 20s and early 30s in
egypt, organization was product of hasan al-banna successfully moving
islamic revival from realm of individual reforms to that of mass
organization and popular movement, al-banna's successor, sayyid qutub,
introduced organizational element that was an amalgam of marxist and
