The Lamont campaign responded by seeking out rap artists to phone black stations and remind listeners that Lieberman had once targeted rap music for promoting violence and drug use. ___________________________________ The consensus here in jolly connecticut among campaign watchers is that Lamont's endorsements by Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have hurt him among white primary voters, who election after election has shown are not all that liberal.
