Doug quoted:

Abortion continues to split the country nearly down the middle. But there is consensus in one key area: two out of three Americans (66%) support finding "a middle ground" when it comes to abortion. Only three-in-ten (29%), by contrast, believe "there's no room for compromise when it comes to abortion laws." This desire to find common ground extends broadly across the political and ideological spectrum.

[WS:] What exactly is a "middle ground" or "compromise" on abortion - that abortion is "partially" legal? Or that someone should get only "a little bit pregnant"?

Is not it a code word intended to hide actual opinions on the issue? Which is very bad news because it indicates either "moderate" pro-lifers who want to severely curtail abortion but not ban it altogether (what a compromise!), or people scared by x-tian phalanges to the point of being afraid of voicing opposing views.

Thank dog for the AMA, the big pharma, and the medical establishment that will never allow popular sentiments interfere with their profits. They seem to be strongest guarantee for "keeping abortion legal and safe."
