This article does not really specify who is meant by the "Left" in Europe.
Applied to Germany alone, the term "Left" covers a spectrum that ranges from the rotten, neo-liberal PDS.Linkspartei (privatization and union-busting in Berlin, for example) all the way to militant Antifa groups (most of which don't even formulate a position on the current Israel-Hesbollah conflict, let alone waving pictures of Nasrallah).
