I'm bothered whenever "we" mushes together utterly disparate parties. The "we" which will/will not "deal" with Islamic terrorism does not include Justin or Doug or me or anyone -- anyone at all -- whose concepts of human decency even approximate anything which any of the three of us would share.
One of the reasons I have been so adamant over the years in denying that the u.s. is fascist or in danger of becoming fascist is that I think the u.s. is a _much_ greater threat to human survival that the Axis ever came close to being, and to call the u.s. (or the Bushies) _fascist_ creates the wrong context, calls attention to the wrong expectations, for assessing this danger and explaining it to others.
We should _never_ talk about what the u.s. should or shouldn't do in the abstract; we should only talk about how we, from our positions of weakness, can move towards having an impact on u.s. policy. Please note that my "we" does not include the U.S. Congress, the Bush administration, the SC, or the leaders of either RP or DP.
