Very unlikely Goodwin Ginger is a "she" - almost certainly a
pseuonym by someone writing from Canada.

Ginger Goodwin is a Canadian labour icon. He was a Canadian mineworkers
leader and member of the radical Socialist Party of Canada who protested
Canada's participation in World War I. He was murdered by police in British
Columbia while a fugitive from the authorities who wanted to draft him into
the army in 1918. His funeral was attended by thousands and triggered a
brief general strike in Vancouver, which anticipated the much longer and
better-known Winnipeg General Strike the following year.
