Highlights: The Jerusalem Post suggests that the US will not attack Iran militarily until 2008, near the end of Bush's term. Connecticut Republican Rep. Christopher Shays, formerly a supporter of the Iraq war, now calls for a timetable for the withdrawal of U.S. troops. No word yet from Vice President Cheney on whether Rep. Shays' call for a timetable for withdrawal will "embolden al-Qaeda types." Israel says that countries that don't have diplomatic relations with it shouldn't be allowed to contribute troops to a UN peacekeeping force. By this logic, the Lebanese military should also be excluded south of the Litani river. (The Lebanese government also does not have diplomatic relations with Israel.)
