This is the opening of a column in yesterday's FT by Jacob Weisberg,  
who is about as ordinary as they come: "As the US begins to  
acknowledge the magnitude of its defeat in Iraq...." What follows is  
highly unremarkable, but those are some big words for someone as  
orthodox as Weisberg.
