The Soviet national anthem is an incredibly moving and beautiful piece 
of music. The following web page (appropriately at the domain 'hymn.ru') 
lists myriad versions, in many different languages, listed 
chronologically. (A great quote from the web page, “As you can clearly 
see, Russian anthem technology is vastly superior to that of any other 
country.") This is undoubtedly true.

Particularly powerful are the versions with full chorus, especially that 
of the Alexandrov Soviet Army Ensemble.

I was 're-turned on' to the anthem at a concert of the film director 
Emir Kusturica's 'quasi balkan-punk' band, 'The No Smoking Orchestra'. 
Combining political comment and satire, they entered the stage to the 
anthem.
