Shades of FDR! Two points:

1. This sort of threat _does_ have more of an aroma of naziism than do
most things that get loosely labelled fascist.

2. But the example of FDR and the Japanese internment is there to remind
us of the repressive power of the bourgeois-democratic state, with no
need for a explicitly authoritarian state.

It has more of an aroma of Nazi Germany because an actual implementation
of such madness would involve a deeper racism and a more difficult
"problem" requiring a more complicated (and deadly) "solution" than the
overtly temporary internment of the Japanese.
