One of my main questions about postmodernism/poststructuralism has always been what social and political practice has it brought about ? What social and political practices _has_ it brought about so far ?

The Supreme Court cited postmodern concepts of sexuality when it struck a blow against heterosexual oppression and ended sodomy laws.

^^^^^^ CB: Yes. A main area of postmodern practice seems to be gay liberation. The main anti-essentialism seems to be deconstruction of heterosexual instinct as "essential". Maybe if postmodernists said this explicitly, all the esoteric lingo would be clearer to everybody. Instead of deconstructing Marxism and other liberation theories, focus itself as gay liberation theory.
