I didn't think anybody still believed in the theory
that the FSB blew up the apartment buildings. The
(alleged, but likely) perpetrators have been
apprehended and sentenced to prison. All Dagestani
nationals, IIRC.

It was telling that at the time (a lot of) people
rushed to blame the Kremlin, despite the fact that
Khattab had already announced his intention to set off
bombs in Russian cities, and despite the fact that the
Wahabbis' willingness to engage in this kind of thing
was well-illustrated by their planting of radioactive
material in a park in Moscow in 1995. HELLO?!?!?
