Just most of the time. And neither fact effects more than their passive opinion. How they answer questions on a poll. But _only_ just most of the time. You weren't here when for a little while an awful lot of people were on the verge of responding to much more. I have no idea what conditions or what acts of the left might have moved them over that verge, but it was close. The Civil Rights movement (INCLUDING THE RIOTS) were beginning to move even people who had been overtly racist or Goldwater voters or completely passive.
