Roehm was homosexual; although the real excuse for the
Night of the Long Knives was that the Roehm faction of
the NDSAP took the anticapitalist rhetoric of the
early Nazi years too seriously, the murders of the
Roehm Brownshirts was justified in part by suggestions
that they were caught in flagrente in homosexual
acivities. Of course sexual desire is not respectful
of political (or religious) ideologies, so gay Nazis
are no wierder than gay US fundamentalist preachers
and Congressmen -- as we have seen a lot of lately.
