Cisco Networking Academy Programme Roadshow 2007 begins http://www.nhandan.com.vn/english/life/271206/life_cisco.htm

The Cisco Networking Academy Programme Roadshow 2007 was launched December 27 at the Bach Khoa Networking Academy of Hanoi University of Technology.

The roadshow aims to improve the awareness about the value of networking and information technology (IT) education among local students, enabling them to better prepare for IT jobs or higher education in a changing knowledge-based economy.

The roadshow provides local students with updated networking technologies and trends in the world and career orientation in the IT sector. Cisco also announced its new internship programme to enable opportunities for students in Cisco Network Academies in Vietnam to work at Cisco Vietnam for about six months to get practical experience before they leave their universities.

The roadshow is part of Cisco's commitment to helping Vietnam to develop a strong IT workforce. "We expect to help improving local people's IT skills and awareness, ultimately contributing to helping raise the quality of the local workforce, an important factor if Vietnam is to become a highly successful member of the World Trade Organisation (WTO)", said James Chia, general director of Cisco Vietnam.

On the occasion, Cisco granted scholarships to Vietnamese students.

After the kick-off event at Bach Khoa Networking Academy, the roadshow will be run through the year 2007 at the other Cisco Network Academies in Vietnam.

The Cisco Networking Academy Programme is a comprehensive, e-learning programme, which provides students with the IT skills essential in a global economy.
