Global Sense author Judah Freed slates January 5 reading at Vox Pop Books in Brooklyn
Evening event features top New York political comic Scott Blakeman.
NEW YORK - Celebrating the January 1776 anniversary for the publication of Common Sense by Thomas Paine, Vox Pop Books in Brooklyn welcomes Judah Freed, author of Global Sense, a modern update of Common Sense.
Published in 2006 by Media Visions Press Ltd, Global Sense by Judah Freed is subtitled, "Awakening Your Personal Power for Democracy and World Peace." The book features a foreword by Air America radio host and bestselling author Thom Hartmann along with an afterword by Dr. Vandana Shiva of India.
Closely following the logic and structure of Paine's masterpiece, Freed unites progressive and libertarian ideas to show how "our natural global connectivity empowers each of us to change the world by changing our own daily choices." Where Paine challenged monarchy and hereditary succession, Freed challenges "alpha male rule" and "authority addiction," instead advocating what he calls "mindful self rule" and "personal democracy." Blending personal growth and politics, the book offers a provocative and empowering view of the world.
Judah Freed is an international media and politics journalist based in Denver, Colorado, where he hosts the "Metro" radio talk show on KGNU AM & FM.
Joining Judah Freed for a January 5 reading and book signing will be Scott Blakeman, whom NBC-TV called "The top political comedian working in New York today." Blakeman will be joined by singer/ songwriter Ellsworth.
For information about the 7:30 PM event on Friday, January 5, call Vox Pop Books, 1022 Cortelyou Road in Flatbush, Brooklyn, at 718 940 2084.
