My theory is that the State Dept. reaction "supporting
the Muslims" is actually just due to the war in Iraq.
Talk about fanning the flames of insurgents and
drawing new folks to the Iraqis' insurgents cause from
other countries. Yeah, the US didn't print the
cartoons -- and this statement of "support for
Muslims" seems to strive to impress that upon folks in
the Muslim world. "Don't take it out on us in Iraq,
fellas! We're with ya!"
