here's "what the fuck" i'm talking about, or was, in the post which was quoted...
the german press has run the cartoons that made so many muslims furious at what they considered a religious blasphemy and show of contemtuous disrespect,the germans having done so as an act of "freedom of speech", regardless of who might be offended...
meanwhile, the german penal colony is holding two men , awaiting trials and possibly years in prison, for daring to speak, and think, critically about the holocaust, a different subject which, unlike islam, does not warrant any thought that might be engaged freely but could offend... religious belief?
by the way (unequivocally?) they call themselves revisionists, not deniers,a derogatory term which corresponds to n-word-spic-kike-dago or any other derogatory label used to reduce the labeled to a status below the labeler, and placing him-her beneath contempt...
these two, ernst zundel and germar rudolph, were in the u.s.a. but were deported to germany for jailing because, with all our faults, we still don't imprison people - specifically - for what they think or say...
and what these revisionists say does not "deny" that jews were treated despicably, imprisoned , deported , and murdered in great numbers...
they specificaly question the alleged numbers of dead , the alleged methods of killing, and the alleged plan for extermination...for this they are in the slam, and much of the allegedly free world is either totally ignorant of them, or, totally unconcerned about their freedom to speak or think, since the subject is deemed sacred and beyond question...
something like the intelligent design or big bang folks, or those who believe jesus was the son of god and maybe moses was his brother in law...you know, devoutly certain that what they believe is beyond any need of question and should just be accepted as a matter of religious , or scientific, faith...
much of the world does not have the same faith and unquestioned acceptance of the story of the holocaust, very much approaching myth, as the iranian premiere said and was immediately further demonised by the western governments, though most of the world's governments outside the west, and representing a global majority , hardly noticed what the fuss was about...
of course, we here in the enlightened - is it blue or red states? - can often practice, and just as often pretend to honor critical approaches that strive to go beyond assumption of truth simply on the basis of repetition of alleged fact, which needs no verification because...well, everybody who matters knows the truth, don't they?
hope this clarifies, at least a little, "what the fuck" i was talking about...and if it doesn't, those who'd like to know more could try checking out what the two guys in the slam actually say...
and obviously, don't do it only by reading what someone else says that they say...
