I think the Germans have gone way, way too far. You can't develop the army because that would be like the Nazis. You can't have national pride because that would be like the Nazis. You can't say bad things about Israel because that would be like the Nazis. Etc.
My mom was so guilty about being German she didn't even teach me or my sister the language. I couldn't talk to my grandmother until I was in my 20s.
