Indian shares hit historic high
Indian shares have hit a new record with the benchmark Bombay Stock Market (BSE) topping the 10,000 points level for the first time ever. The 30-share BSE index rose 2.7% to close at 10,002.83 points shortly before trading ended on Monday.
The previous all-time high had been 9,993.92, which was reached last week.
The Sensex index has risen more than 40% this year and reports say Monday's rally was spurred on by heavy investing by mutual funds.
