Jim Devine :

wait a sec! Isn't Charles advocating the end of freedom of speech forfascists? By his logic, however, isn't it "absurd to argue for the 'freedom' to advocate the end of freedom of speech"?

^^^^ CB; Ok a sec is up. It is absurd to call fascists' license to speak "freedom" of speech, as fascists advocate the abolition of freedom of speech.

You left off the quotes around "freedom" of speech for fascists. Fascists' don't have freedom of speech, they have "freedom" of speech. Fascists have Repression of Speech, and it is not absurd, but consistent, to call for an end to it.
