If this thread has proven anything, it's that "free speech," as a concept,
is deeply subjective and therefore never fully appreciated or universally
understood, much less agreed upon. In any event, "free speech" has never
been terribly popular, esp when it goes against or insults the sacred
opinions of another person. In this insane tribalistic world, I think you
can argue that "freedom" in general is a human defect, which doesn't mean
that it's a bad thing, just that it's a radical alternative to hive living,
and thus extremely frightening for many to fully consider.
