that's true. there's some catharsis, self-therapy, in name-calling.
then there's magical thinking: if we call some of Bush's policies (or US policies) "fascist," it can slow the (assumed) trend toward fascism.
then we could take Luxemburg's "socialism or barbarism" literally. Since we don't have socialism, it must be barbarism (fascism).
