The devil always gets the best press. Blake said Milton was of the Devil's party and did not know it, and his Lucifer is surely more interesting than his milquetoast Christ. Goethe's Mephistopheles and Marlowe's Mephisto are also both wonderful. Though Shaitan in the book of Job is sort of colorless. Other Great Satans, as it were, anyone?
