Individual action changes the structure, be it demonstrating, changing our lifestyle, 'green' investing. Pontificating doesn't.

I said: Need:

"the psychological feature that arouses an organism to action toward

a desired goal; the reason for the action; that which gives purpose and direction to behavior" --princeton.edu

That definition does more than imply structural change, it implies that the individual is the cause of the structural change. "The psychological feature"... We are just being fed what we want to hear (and disregard the rest).

Das't I say it's fear and insecurity?

No, No, the 'SUV' isn't the problem, it's the people that drive them, not questioning why they need one, that's the problem. ---

The roots of repression are, and remain real roots; consequently, their eradication remains a real and rational job. What is to be abolished is not the reality principal, not everything, but such particular things as business, politics, exploitation, poverty.

To forget this is to mystify the possibilities of liberation." --Herbert Marcuse
