Of course he has an Indian mother, she will be Hindu.  There will be a
patriotic or at least an apolitical or pacifist female Muslim character.
Probably a love interest.  This character will act as an agent of
normalization to bring the "bad" Muslim back into the fold of an organic
national community.  The family will serve as a metaphor for the nation and
a prescription that defuses the demands of non-hindu communities in India.
