Nick Tosches' book on country music (Country:Stein and Day, 1977) "Steve Young, a country singer born and raised in Alabama, played guitar in the early sixties for a folksy duet called Richard and Jim. Steve first visited California with them, where he attended the wedding of richard and Mimi Fairna at the home of Joan Baez, who is Mimi's older sister. Steve recalls that Baez, butterfly of egalitarianism and wet-dream queen of liberals everywhere was quite repulsed by the presence of a white Southern man. The deplacement of hatreds is a droll thing." (p. 137) Stuart Elliott <<<<<>>>>>

at least 3 southern white men were at above wedding given that richard lockmiller and jim connor were also from 'bama, they'd met farina through their managers, or they had same manager for a time or same guy managed r&j and farina's first wife, folk singer carolyn hester, in any event, farina had written liner notes to one of their albums...

and now for - at least some of - the rest of the story:

jim connor: http://users2.ev1.net/~smyth/linernotes/personel/Connor.htm

richard lockmiller: well, he may have gone into acting, some small film parts and recurring tv roles... mh -------------------------------------------------------------- Please Note: Due to Florida's very broad public records law, most written communications to or from College employees regarding College business are public records, available to the public and media upon request.
