Ah! A nice coincidence is that Seychelles is Africa's most prosperous country, adding $904 per year per capita to national wealth measured - by the World Bank - using a methodology sensitive to resource depletion, investment in education, and pollution externalities. In contrast, capitalist South Africa (where I live) loses $2 per person each year in genuine wealth, and oil-rich Gabon loses $2241 per person each year. Sorry, the relevant formatting is messed up but here's the table:
