later today, it might be interesting to check in on the developments of the antichoice vs. antiantichoice faceoff taking place in San Francisco today. A religious coalition organized about 10,000 antiabortion people to bus in from up to 600km away, and its clear that they didn't pick San Francisco just for its scenery, desiring to walk along an empty Embarcadero. They want to engage the opposition, and about 15 groups encouraged their members to come, and the Chronicle reported that they swore to stop them.

On the phone, my friend said that some antiabortion people won't stay in their plaza and already are shouting at them at their pier, which I think was moved at encouragement by police in order to be further from Herman Plaza.

Anyway, it seems like abortion could easily toggle from being a moderate position such as gun control, where people don't have to invest energy because it is not reasonable to believe that the legislature could enact many changes. It is the most likely scenario that Alito will be confirmed and that a case will be decided which changes the federal position on local laws. However, many counties already have no doctors available, so proactively arranging transportation and distribution of the 48-hour pill seems to be the way to go.
