That is what seems to be happening in the US with "gangsta rap"  - which
explicitly promotes the ideas of violent competition, materialism and
instant gratification that nicely feed into the neo-liberal project of
elevating a few strong individuals above the rest of society - and does in a
way that would not be acceptable for most other social groups.
