GOP Senator Ted Stevens made a
quickly-becoming-infamous, angry declaration that "THE
INTERNET IS A SERIES OF TUBES!" 

This was at a recent Senate Commerce meeting. He was
angry that "an internet was sent [to him]" but took
days to reach him. He probably meant email. Anyway,
he's rabidly against the "net neutrality" movement,
and that's what his testimony was about.
