Lenin once, in a burst of enthusiasm, declared that no one could understand Capital who had not studied Hegel. There was probably something to that, but I still suspect that a lot of people have gotten quite a bit out of Capital without having direct knowledge of Hegel. *************************************************************************
Point of information:
"It is impossible completely to understand Marxs Capital and especially its first chapter, without having thoroughly studied and understood the whole of Hegels Logic. Consequently, half a century later none of the Marxists understood Marx." [Notebooks] http://www.marxists.org/archive/lenin/works/1914/cons-logic/ch03.htm#LCW38_180a
