Carrol Cox:

Bombing civilian targets is at the core of the military strategy of the united states & Israel.

[WS:] I am sorry to burst your bubble, but attacking civilian targets is at the core of any warmaking or military strategy ever. Period. There is no such a thing as a war that does not primarily target the civilian population. In the past, men went to war primarily to pillage and rape. Today they are sent to war primarily to destroy the civilian productive capacity of the enemy.

The "protecting women and children" and the battlefield "code of ethics" proscribing attacking "defenseless" targets is but a self-serving PR myth invented by the warrior class and their supporters to portray themselves as "gentlemen" rather than savage butchers that they really are. Therefore, those who object to killing defenseless civilians should object to war making in general rather than singling out warmaking by "them" but not by "us" - whoever "us" and "them" are.
