But geekdom isn't a barrier to organizing. I think it's the Left's greatest, secret strength -- another word for membership-based organizing. Long ago, in another life, I tried to be a healthcare organizer, and failed miserably -- because I'm not part of the healthcare world, a tech or a doc or an RN. But organizers from that world had an instant range of shared bonds and experiences with fellow workers -- it was amazing to watch. The same is true for all the other service sector jobs out there. Geeks of the world, unite!
